TWO FOR THE SHOW, THREE TO GET READY

More bits and pieces....

CHOPPING & FABING, CHOPPING & FABING...

I am getting down there with the pile of fabrication
on this bike, I have so much respect for the serious
professionals like the late Indian Larry and Jessie James
who build everything from scratch. You have to think
Harley -Davidson have a huge team of designers and
millions of dollars for the design research,
and that is simply not the case for those guys.

Design taken from an Indian battery and fender support,
so of course it is way over built.

RE-INVENTING THE WHEEL (WELL THE BRAKE)

I try to avoid re-inventing major operating parts of a
bike and stick to what was tried and tested by
Harley, but in some circumstances you just have to..
This bike/engine was born with a disc brake
on the rear but i am going with a drum.
So i completely started from scratch, from
the anchor plate all the way to the brake pedal.

I don't really do languages, i moved to Denmark seven
years ago and i still have not learnt Danish. But if you
speak Spanish (which i do not) you should check
out this article written about me in a spanish magazine.
I used Google translator and i think they are saying nice things?

OLD TANK, NEW TANK

This tank is from an old Danish moped, and the steel was
rusty and old which makes it a lot harder to work on.
The tunnel was 4" too high at the front and  2" at the back,
so a little body work was needed which is not my
favorite past time but 10 hours later its finished and is
not leaking which really helps your gas milage!!

ORGANIC LAMP BRACKET

To match the headlight bracket i wanted to
create a molded style bracket for the rear
light, and here is what i came up with...

FIDDLING WITH THE FENDER

I started on the rear fender strut. On a few of the bikes now
i have painted the tip of the rear fender and wanted to
continue the theme on this build, but have the tip in chrome.
I came up with a design to incorporate the chrome
tip into the fender brace and light bracket....

First was to make some frame tabs to
attach the fender struts to.

This piece will be chromed but i first
have to fabricate a light bracket.

I will finish the welding when the frame is stripped.

Just a little bit of trimming.

I am finished for tonight, its 11.30 pm.
